This program is open to current 7th-12th grade students within the Charlotte area. The dates are TBD but the program will be six weeks during the summer.
Students can choose from two curriculum partners, Bottega and Skillstruck, and each offers HTML, CSS, and JavaScript content. Bottega also offers an advanced course for those who have already completed Code to Success in past summers.

ON-CAMPUS PROGRAM
Students learn HTML, CSS, and JavaScript to create their own websites and apps through Bottega’s Coding Foundations course. In addition to their Foundations course, Bottega offers an advanced JavaScript and REACT framework course for students who have already completed HTML, CSS, and JavaScript. We have our other curriculum partner called Skillstruck – whose platform can run on Chromebooks whereas Bottega courses cannot run on Chromebooks – that also teaches HTML, CSS, and JavaScript. Finally, we have a Cybersecurity option through CyberPatriot. However, preference for the Cybersecurity course will be given to those who have already participated in previous Code to Success programs and there are ONLY 50 seats available. The CyberPatriot program will be hosted at ONE campus (TBD) in Alpine School District, but students can participate in this course online as well.
Students will access instructional videos and tutorials, that are built into the curriculum, and then apply their knowledge to complete coding exercises, quizzes, and a capstone project. Upon completion of the Coding Foundations course, students will have the ability to create their own static website and be able to access/navigate coding repositories.
Students will attend class on campus from 8 am-12 pm MST. Each campus will have a facilitator and a mentor (either onsite or online) to provide additional curriculum support. No previous coding experience is required to participate in Bottega’s Coding Foundations or Skillstruck’s course.
Dates for the 2022 Utah On-Campus program will be June 13th-July 15th, Monday-Friday, 8 am-12 pm. The dates for the Detroit and Charlotte programs are TBD. Please note, there will be NO CLASS on Monday, July 4th.

The Code to Success Online Program is available for junior high and high school students. Students can complete the online program from anywhere as long as they have access to the internet and a computer.

As students register for the Online program, the next steps will be sent to the student email and parent email of what device is needed as well as any extensions or downloads to run the curriculum. PLEASE NOTE, Bottega’s platform can run on a Mac or PC, but NOT a Chromebook. However, Skillstruck’s platform CAN run on Chromebooks.

SKILLSTRUCK PROGRAM
Code to Success has partnered with Skillstruck, a Utah-based coding provider that teaches web development for junior high and high school students.
Skillstruck’s coding platform is web-based, making for an easily accessible curriculum, and runs on Chromebooks. Students will dive into HTML, CSS, and JavaScript – testing their knowledge with quizzes, projects, and can earn badges along the way.
No previous coding experience is required! Students will receive access to the Skillstruck curriculum starting June 14th. Click here to register. Note: college credit is not offered for the Skillstruck course.
